Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

Upon entering the home, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant challenged several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Additionally disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
